This fabulous weather has got me in a good shorts wearing mood.

Shame I have to work in an airconditioned, absolutely no sunlight office! How am I supposed to work on my tan? The only radiation I get is the one eminating from the fluorescent lights and the CRT sat to my right!

East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national “In case of Emergency (ICE)” campaign
The idea is that you store the word “ICE” in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted “In Case of Emergency”. In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them. It’s so simple – everyone can do it. Please do.

OK, but am I being a bit cynical to see just how unworkable this is? Are Ambulance staff going to get training in all phones? OK your bog standard “disposable” Nokia has a fairly standard phone book, but phones are getting complicated. e.g. smartphones. I’d like to see if anybody could get this from my phonebook on my SE 910i smart phone!!!

ultimate X-Men 10

Hmm. I’m an ocasional comic buyer (as opposed to when I was younger and was an obsessive comic buyer). I’ve just read Ultimate-X-men vol 10 (issues 50 to 53). It’s a bit…different. All the characters are younger. It’s set in the current day. Almost like they tok the same characters, vastly updated them (e.g. Dazzler has loads of tatoos n piercings) and dropped them in 2005. Without any of the history behind this comic, I don’t know whether Marvel just did that, or whether this is some “New Universe” type thing. I do hope that they did set the scene as a different universe, as marvel used to pride themselves on not reinventing their characters. But there again like I said at the start, I’m an occasional comic buyer and hardly up to date!!!

All that being said it was not too bad. I stopped reading X-Men before the appearance of Gambit, and since these few issues dealt with the reappearance/reinvention of that character, it meant nothing to me.

Jamon Serrano

Well I have a single pack of the yummiest jamon I have ever eaten outside of Spain sat in my fridge!! A mate brought me 3 packs in payment for cat sitting duties. The first pack was yummy, the second was pretty dammed yummy. How I can not eat the 3rd pack is hard to imagine.
